Swaddling is one of those magical midwifery mad skills that I’m yet to master… even two children down the line, I’m fairly hopeless at it! So, a few weeks ago, when we were offered a Gro-snug (a brand new product from The Gro Company) to review, I was intrigued and excited to give it a whirl!
We were sent the Light Gro-snug in Grey Marl, which is made from super soft, stretchy cotton (95% cotton, 5% elastane); it’s absolutely perfect against newborn skin. The Gro-snug comes in either a Light or Cosy version depending on the time of year your baby is born, and the Light version is ideal for our summer baby!
The Gro-snug is a 2-in-1 sleeping bag for newborns; it can be used as either a swaddle bag, by fastening the nickel-free poppers at the arms, or as a sleeping bag, by unfastening said poppers. We’ve used the Gro-snug predominantly as a sleeping bag, and we are in love; Indy sleeps better, and tends to sleep a bit longer, when he’s in it.
Another great feature of the Gro-snug is that it unzips from the bottom, which makes it ideal for night time nappy changes as it causes minimal disruption.
It washes really well; we’ve had ours for around three weeks now and have washed it every two-three days – it still looks brand new! It’s also tumble-drier friendly, so fantastic for winter, or days when the weather isn’t washing line friendly!
The Gro-snug is for age 0-3 months, or up to 5.5kg. It’s the perfect product for transitioning your Little One into a sleeping bag from 3 months.
The chest is lined for comfort, although this does make the Gro-snug bunch a little at the top when not using in swaddle mode.
The Gro-snug comes with a free nursery thermometer (which has been very useful on warm nights) and a what to wear with the Gro-snug guide (which, again, has been very useful!).
The wonderful Gro-snug costs £22.99 is available to buy from The Gro Company store, and I would definitely recommend it to parents with newborns.
