The carpet when we moved in… Granny chic?

My In-laws did a sterling job finishing the final lining and painting of the walls in our hallway, stairs and landing while we were away in Sussex a couple of weeks ago. We no longer live in a half-finished house, and I’m so so grateful for their assistance and work during our whole house redecoration!

With the bare bones of the house dealt with, I can now concentrate on sorting out the finer details – something I absolutely love to do! Other than a lampshade to go up and some decorative knobs to source, Busby’s room is complete, so my next focus is Indy’s nursery.

It’s taken me weeks to come up with a theme for his nursery as there’s so much (some might say too much) inspiration everywhere for gorgeous spaces for children. But, after a couple of months of Pinterest perusing and night feed window shopping, I’ve finally come up with a theme: “Dinosaurs, robots and bears, oh my!” (a little homage to one of my favourite musicals in that name!) and I’m very excited to get cracking!

My starting point was his awesome Cosatto robot cotbed which you may remember from this post here. From there I thought that he needed dinosaurs featured somewhere in the room… and I currently have an obsession with anything bear related, so that had to be incorporated!

His room is full of boxes at the moment, as he still has a few more weeks ahead of sleeping in his bedside crib, but we’re going to be working on a feature in October for National Wallpaper Week which I’m rather excited about, and will be doing a big reveal of his finished nursery then!

In the meantime, I’m on the look out for prints to complete his picture wall, which you may have seen on my Instagram feed over the weekend where I bought ALL the brown wood frames in The Range:

I’ve also been looking at wall decals for stickers that would suit the theme. I stumbled across Room to Grow who have just released sets of free downloadable wall decals, which you just take to a vinyl printers to create! Great idea!

I’m on the look out for some shelves that would work in the space, and fear another trip to IKEA might be on the cards (sorry Nick!), and then final touches such as attempting to cover my own lampshade and jazz up a side lamp… eek! Lots to do, and I can’t wait to make it the most perfect space for him!
